Speaker(s):

Duration: 60 minutes
Track: Advanced Analytics and Insights
Business metrics do a fine job summarizing the past. But to predict how customers will respond in the future, there is one place to turn — predictive analytics. By learning from historical data, predictive analytics can deliver actionable insights and predictions for each customer. These predictions encompass both online and offline processing, predicting which customers will buy, click, respond, convert, or cancel. If you can predict it, you can control it.
This session will present business, marketing, and web problems solved with predictive analytics. We’ll look at how a predictive model works and looks under the covers, how to create one using machine learning algorithms, and what data is required for predictive modeling. We’ll also work through a live demo of the SQL IS project DataLab service on Azure, bringing a predictive model to life and seeing it improve before our eyes through the application of machine learning over customer data.
